Mukashi Mukashi
Winter — the year is coming to a close; the world is buried underneath a
white blanket. Sound is softened by the snow — a world that seems all silent.
The photographs from the “Mukashi Mukashi” (long long ago – jap. beginning of a fairytale) series narrate a journey into dreamlike inner land/mood-scapes, where shadows from the past blend with the patina of old fables, fairytales and kitschy paintings. The pictures tell metaphorical stories of endings and beginnings, tales of getting lost and searching for a clearing, bringing to light new paths – an ambience of reveries and implications.
